This 60` aluminium sloop was designed for fast cruising with minimal crew.
Its modern styling belies a more traditional interior below.
The owner's charter to AMI was to provide a lightweight fitout to meet the design displacement yet have a classic frame and panel apperance. This was achieved by laminating Queensland silky oak solids to end grain balsa over end grain balsa bulkheads to give the desired effect with minimal weight. This yacht when completed came in at design weight and was a full 8 tons lighter than a sister ship built during the same period.
Inlaid jarrah darts to fiddle corners was just one of the many details requested by this very discerning customer. The end result speaks for itself.
